A Teachers Journey - This I believe

Teaching is like a Dungeons and Dragons game. We gather materials and prepare for fun adventures and challenging battles. Dungeons and Dragons is never about one person's solo journey, but all players' group effort. It will be messy and fun, but rewarding. Some enemies we face may be bigger than others, like racial injustices and inequity in the classroom. It may take many sessions to figure out a plan to navigate, but you will never enter the battle alone.

Each character enters the journey with their funds of knowledge and proficiencies. They are unique to every player who enters the magical realm of the classroom. They provide a unique perspective on learning and are celebrated with excitement by all. However, this doesn’t mean there will only be easy days ahead. Some conflicts may be met with failure. These failures while hard are the biggest learning opportunities and you will always have your fellow adventurerers to be there for you. Those hard days when we faced our biggest challenges, are the most memorable because we got to push ourselves. The characters with their endless powers and collective wisdom, overcome the injustices and conflicts together.

The journey starts and ends together with no one left behind. We might not remember the individual battles with dragons or lessons, but we will remember the chaotic and creative journey we witnessed together.
